I was wondering if the canned potatoes last very long and do you use them like boiled potatoes?
We love lentil soup. Little chunks of potatoes and carrots, onion, ham and seasoning. I call those butter beans too. Lima beans are the little green ones. They aren't soft like butter beans.
I eat meatless alot and get canned black beans and chickpeas there for cheap
I buy that bottled water there all the time .
Save a lot is down the street …..

i agree with you on butter beans…lima beans have a greenish color

Such great advice. We're prepping rice and beans for long term storage. Our prepper pantry will be a year's worth of food and then we'll be to long term foods. If we have enough room, we'll prep for more than a year but we're not there yet.

I have always called them butter beans (I've also shelled my share of them in my lifetime) and prefer the baby ones. One of my favorite comfort meals is butter beans(cooked with a ham hock) and cornbread 😋.
Great selection of food items. Our Sav-A-Lot closed probably 20 years ago. I really miss it. We haven't had a real discount grocery store since.

Just picked up 2, 8 packs of pork and beans and 2, 8 packs of baked beans today at Sams.

My mother asked me why I keep a months worth of water for me and my dog, she is not a prepper, I gave her my tuna cans because I replaced it with cans of Salmon which I prefer over tuna

We buy all organic and non-gmo food, I have not seen any shortages on the stuff I buy…but I saw lots of empty spaces on regular foods last night at Aldi and Wal-Mart.

Hi Linda, I am trying. we live once a monthly check I have a couple months wrote what we eat and how much per month I am trying so hard. I pick up cans to cash in and get what I can. How do we not stress? I have holes and trying to have enough until I get my first social security check in July. I only get half pay from my pension. we are very frugal. Hubby got 15 lbs. of cat litter, we only have one girl, so I change her litter 2 times a month. we get the dollar tree that clumps, so that is why we don't have to change it so much. we got her when she was 7 yrs. old and she was an outside kitty. She cries to go out and do her business 2 times a day I am so close to having enough amazon money to get her a 7 months supply of cat food by earning points to turn into Amazon money. I am very positive, and our freezer is so full of garden food and 2 turkeys a ham from last April and other meats we got on sale I even cut back some ounces of meat in our meals to make it last longer
I use canned potatoes and a small can of sliced carrots to steamed cabbage taste great and bulks up the meal to go further
My mom used to make big pots of butter beans and ham hock with cornbread. Brings back great memories.
