I would add water and fuel cans on the ATV. Something like the rotopax flat packs, then you can stack your backpack on top. I also take my .22 Henry rifle along as well as my G17.

If you tip that Atv you risk wrecking your rifle and also you might be landing on that axe lol,
Blade down please marra, you don't want a crash AND an axe injury to deal with. :-p

Fellow Idahoan here. Interesting choice on the 10/22. I don't think it's a bad choice. And for the weight it's probably a excellent choice.

Just interested have you ever thought about carrying a breakdown 10/22? I very happily purchased one for a pretty good price used but I found out why it someone was selling it. I can't get it to work well at all. I'm not a gunsmith but I know enough to know that from everything I've seen it should work. Wondering your experience on one of those if you have any.

Also what size mag do you carry and how many? I like the BX25s but I kind of feel like they are just harder to pack because of their irregular shape. I am wondering about the 15 rounders. But the 10 round mags seem to me to be a decent choice. If you have to make tracks through the woods or brush at any speed the BX25s just seem to me to be something that will stick out and catch on brush or grass or whatever.

Also if I want to swap out to my bolt action Ruger American 22 my 10 rounders seem to work better in that. But I haven't shot that as much so I'm hoping it's just a problem of wearing it in a bit.
