My mum here in Australia , when. She makes spaghetti Bolognese, she grates , carrots, zucchini, celery, onions, garlic , and adds a tin of beans (lentils, black beans etc) add to that other veggies lying around. Serve with pasta, or if like me trying to lose weight by itself. Or zucchini noodles.
I often eat eggs for dinner, tin beans on toast, etc. You forgot to add to your chili tips it would be nice on a steam potato !
I also eat a lot of soup, a great way to increase veggies into the diet, keeps you full. Love your tips !

I love this video! I do almost all of these things. I will put anything but ice cream in a tortilla, and either fry it, or bake it. I've even made spaghetti burritos 👍 We also do the same things with chili, and chili mac burritos are also good. Any leftovers can be turned into new, fun treats! Thank you for another fun video 🙂

I love your channel and I don’t want to be offensive but stop using FETCH. Why do they have to know what you bought? We have a country gone wild with criminals who are never prosecuted at least in my area. Don’t you think it’s awful that they can’t monitor a criminal electronically that THEY released to the street and it could be mine or yours yet they know every food or other product that is under your roof? Be careful guys. Stay safe. And this is NOT about a virus.

Fried rice and stir fry make good use of Leftovers here.
We also add things to rice bowls or dinner salads to use it up.
Corn on the cob, cowboy caviar and grilled vegetables all work great imo.

We have stocked up on beans and rice and add to most meals to have ground beef, chicken etc stretch. I love the instapot. Scrubbing and doing whole potatoes in instapot instead of in the oven.

Love it! When we have just enough soup left over for a bowl or two I will heat it and mix it in with some cooked rice to create like a veggie fried rice dish. Might add curry powder or sweet chilli sauce to change up the flavour. If there's still not enough, put the rice and soup combo into a wrap and add a little shredded cabbage or homemade slaw for some added crunch. My kids also like PBJ pancake sandwiches 🙂

Hi guys! If I make a "chinese" stir fry I use a lot of super fine sliced cabbage or even iceberg lettuce or any other lettuce, kohlrabi leaves etc as a veg filler besides peppers or whatever you have on hand instead of the pricy bean sprouts, bamboo shoots etc. Then I just add a little chicken or even ground meat of ort and with a little soy sauce a pinch cinnamon and sugar its fantastic! I uee bread crumbs and joghurt to tretch hamburger meat for burgers or meatloaf plus I stic up to 4 hardboiled eggs in the middle of the batter! If I use milk, I water it down, many many tricks to stretch food 🙂 great video!

Thanks so much again for your videos! Bravo!

BREAD "HACK" / "TIP" I USE: Not sure if this is mentioned in the comments and, ya'll may know this bread trick but if you'd got a baguette or some sort of artison loaf, running the loaf under water for about 10 seconds, then baking at 350F for 10-15 minutes will have it good as new again. Our son volunteered at the food pantry and brought home all kinds of bread. This also works for pre sliced french bread that is sometimes available at the supermarket. I just run a slice under water for a few seconds….not 10 seconds this time….and place it in the toaster oven and BAM I have a crunchy fluffy slice of bread. 🙂

Soup is great for stretching. There is an old German saying "Fünf war´n geladen, zehn sind gekommen, giess Wasser zur Suppe, heiß alle willkommen!" (translates: "Five were invited, but ten have come, add water to the soup, and welcome each one!" 🥣

Very interesting video ! My favorite way to strech a meal is to prepare a vegan version of the french "hachis parmentier" wich is actually made from leftovers vegetable, grounded meat and mached potatoes topped with bread crust. I think it's pretty similar to the "sheperd's pie". This meal is very easy to convert in vegan way by replacing meat by lentil, ou soy protein.
I also prepare a lot of soups from organic vegetable scrap (carrot and potatoes peel, califlower leafs and core, mushroom feet…), once it's cooked and mixed, none will notice it's not "actual" vegetable and you have a free satisfying diner.
I also like to prepare a meal, inspired by the Italian gastronomy : the minestrone soup, with tomato sauce, beans, vegetables and pasta. It's a great way to combine leftovers to prepare a delicious meal.

My tip is not so much about stretching leftovers, but ZERO waste. Leftovers go immediately into single meal size containers and into the freezer (don't forget to label). Then a few days or weeks later, you have full ready meals for lunch or dinner and no food fatigue from eating the same dish for days. I can't tell you how enjoyable it is to have Thanksgiving dinner on a random day in January. I also freeze individual slices of cake or pie for treats at a later date.

I make a big batch of split pea soup ( vegan, of course) and save some of the leftovers for a sandwich spread. This works best with really thick pea soup. You can mix in some silken tofu, hummus, etc. to make it lighter and go even farther.

As a widowed retired person, it's hard not to have leftovers when I cook. I have plastic divided containers that I use to freeze the leftovers as meals. If I don't have enough leftovers for a full meal, I can add leftovers from future meals to make a full meal. Maybe I have more meatloaf leftover from a meal than veggies. I freeze the meatloaf in a container and add veggies when I have extra in the future. Some containers end up being leftover veggies from different original meals. It keeps me from having to eat the same thing several days in a row.
