Thank you for this video!! It seems most of these extraneous products just separate you from your money, which could be better spent on a rib-eye or purchase of a cow share!! Very sound advice, I hope the people that would benefit from hearing it are listening!! Have a great keto day!! 😊

Before I was on low carb diet I tried coffee with 2tbsp of coconut oil. I was full for 5 hours. Before low carb diet it was dark times when I was very hungry after 2 hours after having a big breakfast.

I've been watching your videos off and on over the last couple of years and realized I had not yet subscribed so now you have one additional subscriber!

Loved this video. I've been low-carb off and on over the years but in May I decided I needed to start tracking what I was putting in my mouth. What an eye opener. After 2 months of staying 1200 calories and 20 net carbs or less per day, I was not losing any weight. Decided to switch to 20 TOTAL carbs or less per day (and still 1200 calories or less) and now am 25 pounds lighter. Only 10 pounds to reach my goal! I continue to track everything because I still don't trust myself. And especially when I reach my goal – I plan to be tracking for a long time. It helps that I'm OMAD and can see at a glance where I am macro-wise, and can choose to add stuff (or not eat something) to keep my macros in line.

Bullet proof coffee is just ok. Used to be a fan but honestly I just like plain black coffee. Products tends to make me just want to eat sweets all of the time. I only do IF accidentally meaning if I’m just not hungry. I find it just crazy to force myself not to eat because it leads to binging later on. I don’t put butter on everything but I am in love with brown butter. I think I’m terms of eating a lot of butter or not is highly individual. Some thrive using a lot. Others don’t.

'm a carnivore keto, but it's not a diet, its a lifestyle for me to keep my PCOS under control, with fabulous results. When I started Keto over a year ago, I went all purist. MCT oil, keto versions of all my favorite carb foods, I was begged and pleaded to try IF, and if you are eating milk over dark chocolate you are a very bad girl. I learned what my body needs and what it doesn't. I no longer need keto carbs, I just eat meat, cheese, butter, eggs, and a little heavy cream. But neither am I purist to that, I do take a serving of psyllium husk tablets at each meal to keep constipation/diarrhea at bay, and I won't say no to a once in a while keto (milk) chocolate bar. I will never do IF, I just eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. Carnivore has allowed me to LISTEN to what my body wants, instead of all of the noise that came with my sugar addiction.

I do Keto for overall improved health, not for weight management. As for chocolate, I make my own from pure 100% dark chocolate and cacao butter. There are numerous health benefits to dark chocolate. I eat a good amount daily and since I make it, I know what’s in it. Feel free to indulge in dark chocolate.

Instead of Keto Treats, I make fat bombs that my husband and I have after our second, and last meal every day (we fast 16:8). It curbs any craving for treats. They're just small fat bombs, but I make them with Swerve and coconut oil, with either peanut butter, cream cheese, or other high fat ingredients. Just a tiny but of sweetness after the meal will.curb cravings

FYI: although you don't need to fast to get a lot of the benefits of keto, my energy levels got super-charged once I started doing OMAD with a few 3-4 day fasts thrown in. Keto got me down at 5' 11" from 240 to 215, though I got lazy. After ballooning up to 260 lbs. again, keto + fasting got me down to 185 lbs. and still going.

I don't count anything. I just stay super low on carbs. 2 meals a day. Normally an omelette with either salmon or bacon for lunch, and meat and broccoli/cauliflower for dinner. Can't stand mct oil. I do splash out occasionally and put a tablespoon of milk in my coffee. No fruit except blueberries and strawberries. Musashi recovery bars if I desperately need a snack. Down 30kg in 6 months.

You nailed it about the keto snacks!!! My weight slowed down when I was eating keto snacks every day. I now eat keto snacks on Fridays ONLY as a reward. I have stayed on track losing weight ever since I did this.

Everything you mentioned is so true about keto. I've been on keto for almost 10 years or more and have fallen victim to all those keto products. While I do love bulletproof coffee, I put it in the very rare dessert category. If I eat too many fats, I will not lose weight and it doesn't agree with my stomach either. I think it's okay to have our "own" keto plan that works for our bodies. There is no right and wrong because we all have different bodies and lifestyles. Over the years, I have lowered my fats, increased my protein and do a daily 20 hour fast with a 4 hour eating window and the stubborn 10 lbs. came off so easy. I give myself one day off of IF a week and it works for "me". Everyone needs to ignore the keto police and do what is best for "their" bodies.

Great video and very informative. Keto is a journey and a lifestyle – I agree all the Keto "crap" that is available out in the public read the ingredients!! They don't necessarily meet the keto criteria and honestly don't always have the best ingredients!
    thank you

When I first started keto, I tried bulletproof coffee and decided I just couldn't do a cup of greasy coffee. I was used to drinking coffee black and that's what I continue to do. I have been in maintenance after a 40 pound weight loss for 4 years, doing IF and sticking to fresh foods and snacks I make myself. I stray on vacations and other special occasions. As you have pointed out, keto doesn't have to be complicated or calorie laden. Good points.

Atkins would roll in his grave. So would the doctor from the 1800s that pioneered low carb.
Net carbs only work for some. It's not part of the keto diet. It was added by people.
Intermittent fasting works for some, but not all. It's not required, but can be helpful. I did strict keto as based off Dr. Eric Westman, who worked with Atkins and has done 25+ years of research himself. It's 20g of total carbs. At first I added IF and initially got down 50 pounds in five months (I was over 300). I have since given up IF. It's a tool in my toolbox. It allows me to maybe have some more carbs when I'm eating out at night.

Keto baked goods are dangerous. If you're doing basic keto (not internet net carbs keto) then you can easily eat too many carbs and overload on fat. Yes, too much fat is a thing! Sugar-free Jello is my best friend.

Tried butter coffee and gave it up. It's too much fat in the morning. The perpetuated idea that you can eat all the fat you want is ignorant to how the human body works. Same with fat bombs. It would be better to eat a couple of bags of pork rinds than the butter coffee. I do either a tablespoon of heavy cream or almond milk. These internet keto inventions weren't researched. They were mostly created by regular people. Some work okay, but most need severe moderation and most people seem to lack the ability to say no to them.
