Often when I make beans I drain them and spread them out on a sheet pan with a silpat underneath. I put the sheet pan in the freezer. When they’re frozen I put them in a big baggie. Then it’s easy to pull out exactly what you want instead of defrosting a giant container and they defrost quickly. If I want to keep the bean liquid w the beans, I end up portioning them into the eq of a can of beans then pop that in the freezer.

I don’t freezer prep very much, mostly because I just don’t need to. But! But! I love having homemade cupcakes/muffins/pretzels in the freezer. They all take longer to make and they’re all great snacks for my son or fiancé (or me sometimes lol) And every once in a while I’ll make homemade uncrustables for my kid as an easy on the go snack or lunch.

Thanks for sharing 💞 I've so much flour in my pantry I was only thinking this morning how can I use it up before the weather here warms up again, it gets too hot to put the oven on and your video popped up 🎉🎉great timing. The pizza crusts are a great idea. I have to hunt around also for your zuchinni bread recipe… Got so many in the garden! Have an awesome day 😍

Amazing use of grits, MiRanda!!!! So, I have a basket air fryer, which wouldn't hold more than maybe three slices of the frozen/sliced grits. Could I use my toaster oven to "fry" these? It doesn't have an air fry application, but I'm thinking it might work. Suggestions?

We just did a no spend grocery week and we realized we had so much that we were able to do two! (We did stop and got my husband cheese and some produce week two, as we ran out of that.)

This is one of everyone's video for a reason. I think we all do this and accumulate stuff, then end up throwing food out instead using up stuff. I do shopping only twice a month and it's not even huge hauls for 4 people I just really try to use everything up. I batch cook and eat twice of every meal or even more times if my family likes it.

I loved this as usual! Hi Miranda! I am using up everything in my freezer because I have to move them (2 small uprights) into my new pantry. I am painting the room, it’s huge, and have a new fridge coming. My old one died. ☠️ I have a large harvest from my garden which is just around the corner, so time is everything. I have pre made meals in the freezer because I am insanely busy, and it is truly life saving. Thanks for the pizza crust idea. When things settle down around here, I am going to make them for my freezer for fall and winter and just plain busy days. Peace love and light.

I really loved this video. Not only do I have several containers of grits to use up, I do need new freezer ideas. I'm about to have major surgery and need things my children (both now in high school) can pull out to either bake or just thaw and warm up! Any more ideas would be very welcomed. About to get some grit fries going! By the way, your mashed potatoe balls with veggies air fried… Spectacular!

I recently started a new job that keeps me BUSY so this is a good reminder to prep! I love freeze prepping veggie burgers, bean burritos and sauces. A big batch of veggie marinara in bags freezes great!

I freezer prep my beans & rice. I make big batches in my instant pot, flash freeze them & then for the beans I put a cans (1.5 cups) worth in a freezer bag. For the rice I do about 2 cups per bag. It is so easy to just grab the bag & throw it in whatever I’m making. I would love for you to do more freezer meal videos. This one was full of great ideas, keep them coming!!

Now that it IS summer, I wanted to share one of my favorite breakfasts: Grape-Nuts, almond milk, and raisins. They're crunchy, sweet and cool/refreshing. I often eat it as a snack or dessert. And no cooking involved (unless you make your own Grape-Nuts recipe.)

I find putting liquids (eg. Soups and sauces, stews) in ice cube trays, so you only take out what you need, it saves wasting it and super easy and quicker to defrost 🙂

👏🏻 love love LOVE the freezer prep idea!!! I have been freezing so much recently and I gotta say-I am quite liking it. I literally was just thinking 💭 to myself this morning right before you posted this video that I should go through my pantry and use up everything I can, freeze what I can’t and try to have a no budget week to use only what I have or what I can make without going to the grocery store or spending money. Then along comes this video with a nudge to do so. Also I do the same things you do with grits but in addition to grits I use polenta. Either one is a hit. Sometimes I don’t even air fry the polenta. I just chill it to set it up and then eat it on its own with marinara or with any meals. I love it that way too. I love your videos and binge them often. Thanks for all that you do!
