Like many Cantonese dads being great cooks, your dad reminds me of my dad from watching these videos! Def will try his recipe!
I made this today and the recipe is absolutely delicious. The ribs were tender juicy and soft. Thanks for sharing 👏
I love the explanation that your folks give. How they explan the use of the peels, how to care for the ribs, the explanation of baking soda and etc.. It reminds me of my conversation with my Mom. The questions that Randy ask are similar to the ones I would also ask.
My Mom recently passed away this past May and watching these videos reminds me of all the special conversations I use to have with her. I operate a food business and I would always ask Mom for feedback and advice with new dishes. She would always share origin stories about the dish, the variations, the techniques involved, the hacks/shortcuts if possible and how to simplify the dish for commercial purposes.
Thank so much for creating this type of content for all of us ABCs that grew eating these types of dishes…long overdue Randy and your doing an amazing job! 🙏🏼
A classic always good on bok fon
Careful how you pronounce black beans because it can sound like dirrehea in canto lol
Chinese cooking doesnt really use measurements. We just throw stuff in.
Just recently found your page and I love it. Thank you so much for sharing your life and recipes with us.

50 year experience shown not just in the food but when he pulls the hot plate out of the steaming pot without even flinching. RESPEK Mr Lau.
Very nostalgic for me. My late father used to cook this and it was my favorite.

By far, I’ve made 3 dishes from watching this channel. I’m so inspired by Mr. Lau’s amazing recipes! I’ll keep watching & keep my family happy by cooking more authentic Chinese food.
I made this today and it tastes exactly the same as the one from my favorite dimsum restaurant in London China town.
I can’t wait to try the other recipes, thank you.
Mr. Lau, you are top! you always give all the secret and details which I fond not many other would. Good on you!
IGLAD YOUR DAD DO IT MORE MORE !
I've made this 3 times now and have another batch going tonight. They are amazing!!! I must say I prefer the simple wash you do of the pork rather than the long wash with baking soda. No matter how long I rinse the baking soda ribs I cannot get rid of that terrible taste. I make your Siu Mai the same with the simple wash. Your dad is awesome! Please do Salt & Pepper Squid tentacles. It's the last recipe I need to fulfill the foods I used to eat when I lived in Toronto.
Dear Daddy Lau, could you please make a video on beef with garlic sauce. It’s one of my favorite dishes but I can’t find no one on YouTube making this particular dish. Thanks Daddy Lau.
I love how your dad gives you an eye contact and thumbs up. Smells good huh!
It's amazing how you document and capture your dad's recipes. Thank you so much, chef Lau! I kind of understand your dad's language, it helps with refreshing my Cantonese. Cute baby!
This was the very first 'pai guat' recipe I've ever tried making, still love it to this day. In fact…. I think I'll go make some now.
