All hotels thru every travel websites are a total scam. All the photos are altered. There is always 75% positive posts and 25% 1-star posts. The only way to know is to have a trusted friend who you respect their taste to tell you they stayed there and it was great — or you stay there and know its good. Thats IT.

I should send you photos of the bad hotel we booked for our large family vacation last month. It was filthy. The smoke alarm went off. And there was an old eaten corn cob on the hallway. 😩😭

If you ever go to Niagara Falls again, the hotels on the Canada side are excellent, and they are much cheaper than the U.S. side. We stayed at the Marriott Fallsview for $70 a night, and the room was newly remodeled. They also had an outdoor space to watch the fireworks.

Lots of hotels near the Falls are hole in the wall hotels. They charge so much because of location. So sorry you experienced this. But the Falls was amazing right? We honeymooned there one night.

Has to be Niagara Falls! We used to live there. It’s sadly a terrible tourist destination because it’s such a run down city. There are small areas they are trying to build up, but it has a long way to go. The Canadian side of the falls does it WAY better!

Do you think possibly the hotel was kept to look like a retro design for nostalgic purpose. Being it was listed near Falls. Was it clean? We're the mattresses comfortable? And was the staff professional , kind and helpful? I hope you had a nice rest there. Sometimes our expectations keeps our minds thinking particular things are more than less. Then we are disappointed real fast. Thanks be to God you do have the opportunity to spend some nice time with your family. Travel is costly and challenging to families on tight budget. It can be very difficult due to budget. God bless you and your family.

Oh I feel you Mamma! I have booked some real "winners" for hotels/motels in my life. But only one time did I actually feel unsafe and kept driving! Recently I booked a motel, but on the way there I saw a photo online of it abandoned and boarded up! I was like, well surely the photos on their website are new remodeled photos and thankfully they were! One other lesson I learned, bring your own coffee mixture, Hotel coffee is just bad. 😂

Oh I had an online booking fail in Atlanta. We just needed one night, me and my girlfriends, that was by the airport because we had an early morning flight. Oh my, oh my. By far the worst hotel we ever booked. We definitely didn't feel safe and the place was disgusting. We ended up spending the night at the airport. Super long night!

While on our New York trip we stayed in Air BNB and I wish we hadn't because the buildings were soooo old and not kept up. Assuming hotels would have been better. Good to know thats not true. I think everything in NY is very old and not well kept up. -Em
