The stores and advertising media really tried to make Valentines a thing here in New Zealand, but I think they've given up. I saw a couple of jewellery ads this year but that was it.

I'm sitting here watching this and realizing your next book should be a bullet journal. How awesome would that be to have your lettering and sense of humor in a bullet journal! You have the talent to create one to be on the market.

We are very non commercial about VDay. He doesn't understand why I don't want .. but the only Hallmark Holiday we prescribe to is Mother's Day.

I find motherhood the greatest calling.. so it's my favorite. I don't want balloons, chocolate, flowers.. a plant is great. A flower even fluffed up by itself is great, on any day. Tillandsia, Succulents, a Betta fish…

I'd rather have some specific food.

Those you love should always know. I don't remind them, I just choose to tell them often, too.

My youngest feels its forcing her to say it back. It's not.

I'm real online but I'm not gushy.

I'm short and a hugger. I feel tiny around tall people but not insignificant. I'm a big woman. My back keeps making me shorter.

I started putting weather, sleep, mood, and pain level in a row, so I can easily see patterns.

I think the cheese thing might be a Cali thing? We use our produce bins for cheese. It used to be 1 drawer but I eat antibiotic and hormone free meat and dairy so I have my own drawer, but not for contamination. LOL Cheese seems to back the hell up of everybody outside my family. I don't eat processed cheese.

My favorite cheese is La Tur. Stupid expensive and seasonal. I can't eat nuts anymore but I used to eat it with a fig spread and Marcona almonds.

I'm not 100% any planning style because my peace has to correlate with ability, each day.

Watching the replay – live between Salem and Portland, and finally got back power and internet (out since Friday 😳). Oregon trees aren’t meant to stand up to ice storms. Happy to clean up listening to a live pwm.

Totally agree regarding Valentine's Day. Been with my hubs for 28 years. When people ask 'what did you get for Valentine's Day' and I say, "We don't get each other gifts because we just buy what we want, when we want." My favorite thing this Valentine's gift this year was that he ran to a hardware store for himself and brought me back a tall hot caramel macchiato. Why?? Because he doesn't drink coffee and hates the ordering process of "Tall Caramel Macchiato with no whip, 2% milk with an extra shot". HAHAH!!! That gives me the feels and makes me laugh at the visual of him doing it, all at the same time! AND…oh my gosh, I too am a hugger and miss them so much!!

We have a lot of the exact same picky food preferences and the same reasons for not liking certain foods… I finally know someone else in the world now – I’m not the only one!!

My favorite sushi I've ever had is the calamari roll from a place in San Diego called Osaka's. And I live in Denmark, so even without covid I'm only able to get it once in a while when I'm visiting friends in SD.

I love what you say about being so tall. I'm 5'10" and always forget how big and imposing I am. It's a good reminder to take a breath and make sure people are adjusted before I pounce around like an Irish Setter.

We don't do Valentine's Day, and yesterday I'd had a really bad night and a meltdown in the morning, so I was totally out of things anyway. Didn't even do the planner – and it's why I missed the livestream. Thank goodness I had today off.

So, my husband braved the cold and walked to a new falafel place to pick up dinner. Not his fault they were not good. It was still sweet.

Loved this week and finding out you're a marmite girl! None of my American friends would go near Marmite! I will confess to spreading it pretty thick on toast though! 😊🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I've been single my whole life but when I was a kid my mom always bought me some little Valentine's treats, so I associate it a little with familial love too, which can be nice.

I was going to buy some fancy Mexican chocolate from a local shop, but then I thought it'd be way less busy if I go next week. 😂

I’m watching re VD day. I am 53 and my ex was a gift giver – but it was between us- at home by ourselves thank goodness social media wasn’t a thing. My now Aussie H isn’t into it – but I feel that it could be a lovely part of a couple but it should kept at home. I put up a favorite Aussie desert on Facebook and we laughed that’s all. It’s really annoying at work – just no.

I don't eat unkosher foods, plus I hate cheesecake (don't hate me), miracle whip, big pieces of onion, salmon that isn't fresh (anything east of California is horrid tasting), raw tuna, and plain raw bananas.

The whole thing with performing love for an audience and breaking up is I think because for some folks who are feeling insecure in their relationship, announcing it to the world is a last ditch effort to convince their partner that they love them because something is wrong. So you're right, it is a thing. It happens when there's jealousy.

An idea to try with sweet potatoes: Make sweet potato fries (cut into about 1/2" strips, spray with some oil, season with salt and pepper (or not, whatever you like) air fry about 15 minutes at 400 (or bake but dunno the deets for that), top with some warmed chili (we freeze leftovers in portioned sizes for later to reheat, but you can use whatever is on hand) and top that with cheese. I personally use cheddar, but use whatever. Melt the cheese if needed. I've been absolutely loving this lately.

I told my sweet boyfriend who unfortunately passed away several years ago that if he would be nice to me 364 days out of the year we would forget this frikin holiday existed. He held up his end of the deal. I would wake up on Valentine’s Day and say “happy day we do not speak of” lol

My husband made me coffee ☕, my daughter made me a card (my heart exploded, so sweet), and after she was in bed we snuggled on the couch and watched the Matrix (a favorite). I've been so depressed I can barely get out of bed, but I made an effort to be present for those things.

I myself make it a point to stay away from social media on Valentine’s Day because I don’t want to see other people’s fake cheesy photos, especially people who I know are cheating on their significant others but post photos on Valentine’s Day as if they weren’t. It’s fake as hell.

I’m not bitter. I’m in a happy monogamous committed relationship, going on 7 years. I just can’t stand the fakeness of “performative” love posts.

Watching the replay. Had a migraine most of the day and a lot of naps. I’m at my boyfriend’s for the weekend and he got me oatmeal cookie dough ice cream. I love this weekly spread, I’m going to try something like this next week.
