🎉Happy FRIDAY! I hope you enjoy these EASY meal ideas. Please share some of YOUR favorite easy meals!
With my buffalo chicken dip i make sure its pretty thick and my husband likes making it into like a pulled chicken sandwhich lol
Once in a while I crave a hot roast beef sandwich but have no roast beef on hand. Great idea about the lunch meat. I can certainly keep some of that on hand.
I found on clearance two packages of Chipotle Brown Rice and Quinoa – yummm it is delicious and packed with nutrition wish I had purchased more !
Good Ideas that Buffalo chicken dip looks amazing I might try that.
I love your fast, tasty, inexpensive meals. I moved from Portland, OR, to Vicksburg, MS, four years ago. I am shocked at the lack of good green veggies served here. If they make some, they spoil it by adding ranch, butter and cream, etc. I’m also surprised at watching other YouTube channels at the huge portions they serve their young children. Part of saving money and eating frugally is not overeating. Eat normal portion = saving money. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
What we run into is when we have DR Appoinments 1 1/2 hrs away. We have fast and do our blood work for our 6 month wellness exams. When we get out we are starving! Then we go to a fast food place and wind up spending up to $10.00. Then we make a Sam’s haul and get home too exhausted to cook and throw in a frozen pizza.
We only do sitting down restaurant for birthday since the end year is all the birthday is all of birthday. Also we only ordered takeout maybe Thursday due to me and my husband get paid on same day . But my daughter and I do all cooking so we love these challenges.
Loved everything! Have you ever tried brown gravy over French fries instead of mashed potatoes? Also, my son likes the Buffalo chicken dip, but when I mixed it with elbow pasta he loved it! Now he asks for it all the time…plus it stretches the chicken. I have a son that does not like cold things. Kinda hard at times. Especially when I do not want to cook, in this horrible heat we have been having, and our air conditioning unit for our downstairs went out. Another way kids might the chicken stretched is to make a barbecue pizza out of it or Buffalo chicken pizza. I love the chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A with their Buffalo sauce on them. All of our taste buds are funny…especially kids. At least my son is! Lol He will not eat anything but a hot sandwich, so chicken and mozzarella is all that goes on his sandwich. Strange! I know.
Thanks for the roast beef Manhattan recipe. Nice and easy. Will try those Idahoan mashed too.
Love the quick meal ideas

Great video! Yes, takeout is expensive! A few years ago, when our income was really low and our budget was very tight, I learned how to make "takeout" at home. I learned stir fry recipes, pizza dough and calzone recipes, and the like. Now, we do Takeout Tuesdays, on which I make a takeout meal of some kind. It could be tacos, curry, stir fry, tuna "sushi", hot dogs, burgers, pizza, calzones, etc. I base it on what leftovers I have from Sunday Supper or Meatless Monday, on what we had the previous week to avoid flavor burnout, and on what I have on hand or was on sale that week. Wednesday is our leftovers night, so we eat whatever is left from Sunday to Tuesday. Thursday is Thrifty Day, where I take an existing protein, veg, starch, and mystery ingredient from my stock (or ones that need to be used up) and make a no spend recipe. Fridays are Fishy days, so we have seafood (salmon, tilapia, Cod, catfish, trout, tuna, shrimp, etc). And Saturday is Easy Peasy, with either a 15 minute dish or we go out. Often we do sandwiches, like BLTs or Grilled Cubanos, or I'll throw together a big salad like a Greek Cobb or Thai Steak. Chicken is off limits because my husband hates it, so I get creative with stretching meat over the week and using more budget friendly proteins like tofu, canned tuna, and pork.
Good Morning! Take out has become as expensive as sitting down at a restaurant around here. To me, if I'm going to spend money to eat out, I want it to be an experience. " Breaking bread" is a time to enjoy each others company, and I hate spending money to eat dinner in the car! My go to recipe is fajita chicken. The super fast way is using my own canned up chicken, a jar of red peppers in garlic evoo from DT. (Microwave that together.), a bag of shredded lettuce, a bag of shredded cheese, and a chub of cherry tomatoes. Serve on tortillas or over Spanish rice. Super delish! PS, Did you buy a pressure cooker yet?
